Children, Youth and Teens
Children and Youth
Congregation Darchei Noam is pleased to provide childcare for children between the ages of 1 and 7 during all services, excluding Erev Rosh Hashanah. We provide a safe, creative place for your child, along with age-appropriate programming that reflects the kavanah (intention) of the Holy Days. Snacks are provided, and activities are led by Darchei Noam’s teens.
Registration for childcare is mandatory. Children can be registered while High Holy Day tickets are on sale.
Drop-in Activity Room
While we encourage families to bring children into services, and offer a special Family Service geared specifically towards families with school-aged children, we know that children will sometimes get restless. For those children who are too old for childcare, but are under the age of 12, we offer a staff-supervised Children’s Drop-in Activity Room, which is open during all service times, except for Erev Rosh Hashanah and after 2pm on Yom Kippur. Parents are welcome to join the fun, and families are invited to bring their own activities.
Family services at Darchei Noam aim to create meaningful High Holy Day experiences for families with school-aged children. Complete with age-appropriate interpretations of prayer, song, and learning, they are led by our talented prayer leaders with help from our Darchei Noam teens. Join us for a musical and engaging way to mark the High Holy Days with the whole family. Family services are led by our Director of Youth Education and Programming, along with a dynamic music leader.
