The Social Justice Advocacy Committee in collaboration with Kehilla Residential Program invites congregants and community members to join us for an exciting multi-faceted event that addresses the need to advocate for Affordable Housing.

The evening features: Sukkah City, a film about a design competition that challenged architects to reimagine the Sukkah while remaining within the confines of Jewish law.

Rabbi Tina Grimberg’s reflections on how the festival of Sukkot is illustrative of communal responsibility to shelter the vulnerable.

A keynote address by Councillor Joe Mihevic on the shortage of Affordable Housing in Toronto.

Information about Sukkahville 2014, Kehilla’s design competition.

A discussion led by Kehilla’s Executive Director, Nancy Singer, Kehilla’s design competition co-chair, Lorne Cappe, Councillor Joe Mihevic, and long time social justice advocate and DN member Valerie Hyman.
