A lecture series by singer, guitarist and songwriter Mike Daley. As a freelance lecturer, Mike has taught music courses across Ontario. Mike has published scholarly articles on American popular music in international journals and has been invited to speak at academic conferences

Using recorded examples from decades of Klezmer tradition, Mike explains how this traditional Jewish wedding music has absorbed influences from the New World and remains vibrant today.

Born Robert Zimmerman, Bob Dylan rose to the top of the folk music world with his incisive songs and unique voice. Using vintage recordings, Mike traces Dylan's career up to his notorious 1965 Newport Folk Festival "electric" performance.
