Shabbat Mornings

Darchei Noam’s Shabbat morning services are the mainstay of the religious life of our congregation.  Our traditional services are complemented by a range of family and alternative programming, and are followed by a communal Kiddush. The morning begins with our weekly Torah Study program, which is led by our Rabbi and various members of our community. Come experience the richness and diversity of our community’s Shabbat observances.

Shabbat Services in Times of COVID

Since it has been unsafe to hold services in our building, we have been meeting weekly on Zoom. This allows us to see each other as well as our service leaders, and to have many participants in each service from the safety  of our homes. Congregational Torah and Haftarah readers, people offering a piece of poetry, and those leading us in kiddush and motzi take their place on the virtual bimah alongside our Rabbi and service leaders. We finish with a kiddush - sometimes all together in a communal conversation, and sometimes at “virtual kiddush tables” or breakout rooms. As always, we use the Kol Haneshamah Shabbat V’Hagim prayer book

Morning and Torah Services

Our unique services, led by congregants and our Rabbi, feature full Shacharit (morning prayers) including a Torah service. With a combination of joyous singing (often with instrumental accompaniment), contemplative reflection, and thought-provoking divrei Torah (teachings), our morning services also set the stage for life cycle celebrations in the midst of our warm community.

Services are held Saturday mornings at 10am, and there is childcare available.

On many Shabbat mornings, we feature special programming, such as Minyan M'chadesh, Family Services and ShabbaTOT.
