'You Shall Not Wrong or Oppress the Stranger':
Caring for Migrant Workers in Canada
Canada relies heavily on temporary, migrants to work in a host of challenging jobs. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability they often face on the job in agriculture, long term care, and other sectors.
The Torah calls on us – 36 different times, more than any other obligation! – to care for the stranger in our midst. Join a ZOOM panel of DN experts for a conversation about fairness for migrant workers in Canada.
Panelists:
Naomi Alboim: Canadian Immigration Policy
Kaile Glick: Community Agriculture
Marianne Levitsky: Occupational Health & Safety
David McKee: Labour Law
Myer Siemiatycki: Moderator
