Shofar blowing registration form

Please be sure to read all the information about the health and safety protocols first.
If you plan to attend, make sure you complete the registration form at the bottom of the page.

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 20, on the second day of Rosh Hashana, the Toronto Board of Rabbis is coordinating an initiative to provide shofar blowing in multiple locations through the city. We will offer several opportunities to hear the shofar blown in our parking lot
Strict protocols will be in place to keep everyone socially distant.  On Thursday, September 17, you will receive an email confirming the time you should arrive.

Please be sure you are comfortable following all these instructions before you register:
  • Everyone must wear a mask
  • Please be sure to arrive on time.  Because we are offering multiple opportunities, we will adhere to the schedule.  You may not be admitted if you are late.  The Darchei Noam parking lot will be closed; please find parking along Sheppard Avenue.  Please arrive with enough time to park and be at the security check at the time indicated on your confirmation.
  • Security will be checking bags. We strongly recommend that you come with a little as possible. Carry a water bottle if it is a hot day. Put your keys and drivers license in your pocket. It will expedite admission if we do not have to check bags.
  • We will keep everyone socially distant throughout.  Expect to be on site, standing, for approximately 20-30 minutes.  Each household will be sent to a designated spot, and you must remain there the entire time.  Please be sure your children are able to comply.  (Young children in strollers welcome…they must be able to keep a mask on).  If due to a mobility impairment or other reason, you require accommodation, please be sure to indicate that on the registration form.  We will do our best to accommodate.
  • Each household must register separately.  Please register only for yourself and those who live in your household.
  • If you answer yes to any of the following question, do not attend:
    • Have you been outside of Canada in the last 14 days
    • Do you have any of the following symptoms:  fever, cough, sore throat, unexplained fatigue, nausea, pink eye, runny nose/nasal congestion/sneezing
    • Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 or had close contact with someone who has been confirmed as having COVID-19?
There are limited spots for this program.  Please only register if you are certain that you will attend.  Your registration may take a spot away from someone else.

Please complete this registration form ONLY if you plan to attend Shofar Blowing at Darchei Noam.  Members of Darchei Noam are welcome to attend Shofar Blowing at any of the sites being offered through the Toronto Board of Rabbis.  The complete list can be found here.  It is our understanding that each synagogue should have a registration form posted at the link given, but we note that some do, and some do not.  If you wish to attend another location, and you cannot find a registration form on the website, you may wish to contact that synagogue’s office as soon as possible to confirm your registration.

Shana Tova!

We will do our best to accommodate the time you prefer.  Your confirmation on Thursday will indicate the time you are expected to arrive.  Please rank these choices in order of preference, marking your first choice as #1 and your last choice as #6.  Due to social distancing requirements and the size of our parking lot, only a limited number of households can be accommodated in each time slot.
