As we mourn the passing of Shimon Peres, z”l, the last of the Founding Fathers of the State of Israel, Darchei Noam has been given a wonderful opportunity to turn back the clock and reconnect with the essence, values and challenges that faced the creation of the modern Jewish state, led by the remarkable David Ben Gurion.

As we watch the movie we can ask ourselves, how does today’s Israel reflect the vision as articulated and implemented by David Ben Gurion?

Darchei Noam is screening “Ben Gurion Remembers”, a movie made in 1972 and recently converted to DVD format. The documentary recounts the life and accomplishments of Israel’s first Prime Minister and one of the key figures to bring about its creation, David Ben Gurion. In addition to interviews with Ben Gurion himself, the film includes interviews with such luminaries as Golda Meir, Abba Eban, Moshe Dayan, Shimon Peres, and others. Our guest will be Professor Michael Bar Zohar, the official biographer of David Ben Gurion and Shimon Peres, and writer of the documentary. Bar Zohar will introduce the movie. Professor Bar-Zohar is the author of more than 40 books and has served as a member of the Israeli Knesset (2 terms). Professor Bar-Zohar is an acclaimed author, speaker, researcher, and Knesset legislator. This is not an evening to be missed!
