Screening of the Award-winning feature film Persona Non-Grata (2015) based on the true story of Chiune Sugihara, a Japanese diplomat who, against his country's orders, issued visas to Jewish refugees in Lithuania during WW2 and saved over 6,000 Jews by granting them transit visas to Japan. The event is sponsored by the General Consulate of Japan and the General Consulate of Israel. An exhibit of the Righteous Among the Nations will be on display.
This film will be screened twice: Wednesday, March 14, and Monday, March 19
On March 14 only, the film will be preceded by an Israeli/Japanese-themed reception at 6:15pm and the Consul Generals of Israel and Japan will be in attendance.
