As announced at the Annual General Meeting on June 18, 2018, there will be a Special Meeting of Congregation Darchei Noam on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2018 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Social Hall at Darchei Noam, 864 Sheppard Avenue West.
 
The purpose of the special meeting is to vote on amending the By Law of Congregation Darchei Noam to move the start of the fiscal year from July 1 to January 1. This will require a change of the language of Section 26, Article III, as follows:

• Current language of Section 26, Article III:

“The fiscal year of the Congregation shall commence on July 1 of each year”. 

• Proposed language of Section 26, Article III:

“The fiscal year of the Congregation shall commence on January 1 of each year”. 
 
This change is recommended by the Board of Directors to ensure compliance with our legal obligations under the Business Corporations Act (Ontario), and is discussed in the attached briefing note.
