Summary |
With COVID still a threat and with rent and food costs rising, life in our city for those who are marginalized and unhoused has become impossibly dire. The burgeoning needs and suffering in our community have grown exponentially. In 2021/22 First Interfaith Out of the Cold redoubled our efforts to address this distress. In partnership with three grassroots organizations, the generous financial support of our donors and the participation of over 100 dedicated volunteers, FIOOTC provided more than 10,000 nutritious hot dinners and lunches, 80 huge bags of winter clothes and boots, 2,000 hand warmers and hundreds of PPE kits. We funded 55 nights of emergency hostel accommodation and in total, we reached approximately 8,700 people. A roast chicken dinner, a tuna salad sandwich, dry boots or a safe night indoors may seem like a drop in the bucket but they made a real difference to so many people suffering during these very hard times. Please read our full 2021/22 Impact Report.
As we look to the start of our 2022/23 season, our 30th year of operation and the continuation of this critical work of Tikkun Olam, we hope we can count on your support! Join us as a volunteer and please consider making a donation. All will directly help those in great need! For more information, please contact Sharna Cohen at sharna.cohen@rogers.com
